It sounds like you have gingivitis or even gum disease. Brushing helps, but flossing is more important for healthy gums. If your gingivitis is very severe, you may need to go to a dentist and get an deep cleaning on your teeth. Why when i brush my teeth it hurts?? it has been like this since last year?
It sounds like your teeth (or is it a tooth?) have problems and the best way to confirm it is to go to the dentist so that he can look into the source of your pains. If he finds anything wrong with your teeth, he can fix it immediately. If it is the way you brush that causes the problem, he can advice you on better brushing techniques.

It is important to take care of your teeth and gums. The earlier you fix any problems with them the better for you; you have to consider the risk of losing your pearly whites if you wait for longer.

Pains in teeth and gums can also be symptoms of other underlying health problems, so it's best to consult the professionals when feel anything wrong about them.
I agree with wat the others said . I had gingivitis before and it hurt reallly bad to brush in that area but if u use sensodyne it helps a lot and then get to a dentist as soon as possible!

What u described is not okay, so be sure too see a dentist soon!! Start brushing more gently and avoid toothpastes that say whitening or that conatin peroxide etc.and avoid soda, ciggaretts etc

Maybe u have weak teeth.....plz see a dentist !
Do you by any chance suck lemons? Do you drink soda pop, sugar or nonsugared? Are you Bulimic?

Do you clench or grind your teeth at night or even during the day? Do you use a tartar control or whitening type toothpaste?

These are the things that can make your teeth sensitive or erode your enamel.

You can check with your dental office about some paste called MI Paste. It has to be ordered through the office, not in any stores. It has special minerals to rebuild enamel. Ask about a night guard appliance to wear during sleeping if you grind your teeth. Don't use ';tricked up'; toothpaste. Use a plain version of your favorite brand or something for sensitive teeth.

Don't suck on lemons, they are corrosive to your enamel. If you are Bulimic, seek professional help. Acids will erode the inner surfaces of your teeth, not to mention other health factors.

I don't know if you do any of these things. I just wanted to give you examples of what I know cause sensitivity.
go see a dentist asap. you may have a disease in your mouth (i'm not trying to scare you, just helping)

also brush more than once a day and don' drink soda or eat sugary stuff.

use toothpaste that prevents gingivitis, cavities, and has flouride

your best bet is to see a dentist and talk to him/her.
It sounds like you have been brushing too often and too hard. You might have to use Sensodyne toothpaste to see if it helps. You may have to go to the Dentist and get your teeth sealed. They clean them and then ';paint'; on a clear coating that is cured with black light.
