How do I brush my dogs teeth?

Give your dog a treat such as Dentastix. It's easier than brushing and they just love it. My dog asks for it every single day after eating. :-))How do I brush my dogs teeth?
I give my dog a dental bone. They comes in packs of either 1 or 2 from pet shops and are green coloured. They are supposed to clean the teeth and stop the breath getting really smelly. They do work as my vet is always impressed with my dogs teethHow do I brush my dogs teeth?
with your partners toothbrush%26amp;doggie paste! have fun xxxx
They make toothbrushes and toothpaste for them. My dog loves his chicken flavored toothpaste.
what i do for my bullmastiff is squeeze some dog toothpaste onto a clean strip of cloth (an old towel or something) and make him lay on his side and take the cloth (wrapped around my fingers) and start to rub he teeth and gums. Gives you better control than using a tooth brush as my dog thinks this is a game and wants to eat the toothbrush, but he wont eat my hand!
Why don't you ask him how his mother used to do it. Make sure he gives you all of the details, what type of toothbrush, what type of toothpaste and so on. Then you might ask him to read you a story before you go to bed. Then maybe he will balance your checkbook and cook you breakfast in the morning. Oh wait, he can't tell you that because he's a dog, and his mother never brushed his teeth, and her mother never brushed her teeth, and her mother never brushed her teeth.... see where I'm going here.
start at a early age if possible.. we found some poultry flavored toothpaste that our dogs love. we would do it in the morning when we brushed our teeth and now they are jumping up and down every morning waiting for us to do them
ask him to say 'cheese' and brush his nashers with doggie toothpaste n brush, while hes smiling!! dog chews are good for their teeth too x
get a special toothbrush designed for dogs, and a toothpaste that is specially designed for them, i have meat flavored toothpaste for mine, he loves it! you can use bones and chews, (although some of the chews designed for cleaning teeth are not big or tough enough for bigger dogs), this will mean you have to clean them less often!
In the old days we gave them bones to chew on, then came along hardened pig skin type chews, then hard feed.

If you read the information on a tube of toothpaste, it says not to swallow contents.

Animals do this almost automatically when you insert something into their mouths.

Reason why we should not swallow the contents, well isn't fluoride still questionable, work it out.

Being cruel to an animal is not necessarily physical harm by abusive actions.

Too many times people do not read the warning labels on product they buy, and that is the most foolish environment to accept.

Don't pass foolishness onto an animal.
you can get dogs toothbrushes and then use your head never done it myself but shouldn't be too difficult
if its a big dog, very carefully
with toothpaste and a toothbrush that are both designed for dogs.
Human toothpaste is poisonous for dogs so do not use that. For my dogs I bought a toothbrush and toothpaste at the pet shop. The toothbrush fits onto a finger and it is therefore easier to brush their teeth. Also, the toothpaste comes in a meat flavour which should encourage them to want their teeth brushed. However, it is not easy to brush their teeth as they rarely enjoy it so just stick at it and it will get easier.
You shouldn't really need to! Dogs clean their own teeth with their dry biscuits and treats such as dentistix which are very good but if you really need to, try putting a little, tiny, bit of toothpaste on a new brush ( dogs love mild mint ) and let him play with it at first, then see if he'll let you have a go. A lot of dogs don't like their teeth mucked around with and if he won't let you, just let him play with the toothbrush ( under supervision of course ) or give him the dentistix on a regular basis.
Better to give him a chew stick thats designed for that.
In the wild, the mother dog uses twigs and fine white sand from a beach to brush her puppie teeth.

True observation!!!!
Most dogs hate their teeth brushed, ( jsut warning you before you frustrate yourself). My vet warned me of this when I brought my pup in for his check up, he suggested keeping him a a hard crunchy kibble and coming in once a year for a scaling, ( dental check up). There are products out there, ( Greenies, etc...), they work as well. But my puppy wimpers when I bring out the toothbrush. Let`s get it straight they`re animals, not humans, it`s not natural to them to have their teeth brushed.Stupid idea actually..Most dogs hate, unless your super vigilant about it.
Using a specially designed toothbrush and pet toothpaste would be adviseable. If you want to use this method it would be good to gradually introduce your dog to the toothpaste and toothbrush. On the other hand you have got certain chews you can give your dog to help prevent dental problems, for example: Rawhide...
Add a few drops of ketchup with the paste - they love it and will let you do anything you want then.

AND it prevents the grass discolouration that bitches make with their acid urine.
