MAC Fluidline - What brush do you use?

What brush do you use with the Fluidline, and do you think it's necessary to buy the MAC brush? I had to opt out of purchasing the brush due to staying within my budget. (teacher salary!) What do you think? Should I just ';bite the bullet'; and go back to purchase the brush? I already have a flat, dense brush, but this one was nice and angled.MAC Fluidline - What brush do you use?
I would bite the bullet and get the brush listed below. It's the one I use anytime I use their fluid line. It's super fine so you have more control. You can also drag it across the lash line to get a larger wider line. It's also perfect to use on the inside rim of the eye because it's a bit stiff it will give you less irritation. It's my favorite liner brush. I have a few so I can use it for many other brands of liners. It rules. I also like Benefits Get Bent Angled Brush. It makes lining your eyes a bit easier. It's $3.00 cheaper as well. I included a link for both.

I really don't think it is necessary to buy the MAC brush . I actually use a paintbrush from Michael's Arts and Crafts store. It has a really fine tip and it is comparable to MAC's 209 brush . It was about $2 and it works just fine. The only problem is that it is a bit longer then regular brushes but that is fine with me :)
yeah the brush your talking about i think is the 266. it is not worth it, ive seen so many angled brushs similar to that one, ive got this one and i like it alot.http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> it works really good with the fluidline.

Which kind of liquid eyeliner should i buy? the brush tip or the felt tip?

i'm talking about L'oreal lineur intense liquid eyeliner....

which is better? the brush tip or the felt tip kind?

thanx in advance...Which kind of liquid eyeliner should i buy? the brush tip or the felt tip?
I think that the felt tip is the easiest to apply. It works great and it lasts all day!Which kind of liquid eyeliner should i buy? the brush tip or the felt tip?
Yep, felt tip, it makes it easier to apply. Especially if you do it underneath your eyes, on the lower lids.
felt is the best kind. it's a lot easier to control and put on.
felt tips are much easier to apply.
for me. the best is the felt tip.. easier to pput on generally
get the brush tip.. gives it a more filled intense look

Photoshop Elements 7 Brush Hardness Option?

Hello everyone! My problem currently is being unable to find the ';Brush Hardness'; option in PSE7. I've searched all over the net and I've learned that PSE7 doesn't contain a brush hardness option or that it is done through changing the Opacity. Help would be very much appreciated also if anyone knows how to ungray the Layer Style options that would be nice. =DPhotoshop Elements 7 Brush Hardness Option?
I have PSE6 (and have used 1,2 and 4). There are a few differences in PSE7 and I hope this isn't one of them. Brush Hardness: Click on the Brush Tool in the Toolbar. Up in the Options Bar, above the workspace, over on the right side is a Brush Icon, a graphic that looks like a brush. Click on it. One of the options should be Hardness.

Layer Styles: Make sure you're not working on the Background Layer. It's locked. If you are, right click on it, click on Layer from Background. Also, some styles like Bevels, Outer Glow and Drop Shadow can't be applied to the whole image because they appear outside the boundary of what they're applied to.Photoshop Elements 7 Brush Hardness Option?
Um, I didn't want to ask again but I'm trying to do http://www.empiredezign.com/version2/portfolio/pages/tutorials/dreamy.htm (step 5) and I was wondering if you could tell me how to find the ';Blending Options'; and ';Glow'; options they don't show up when I right click the layer. Im getting a small case of gingividise,do i brush my teeth with a lot of fource or little fource?

You will want to brush normally, though you may want a soft bristle brush. Also do not forget to floss every time after eating. There are also mouthwash that you can use for gingivitis so look for them. Then finally do not forget to see your dentist. They may recommend that you get a deep cleaning.

    I hope I have helped

brush floss mouthwash unless the mouthwash is pre brush then u need to just doo everything backwardsMouthwash, floss, and brush. What order do you do it all in?
It is a matter of opinion, but I recommend that my patients brush then floss. The floss will remove debris the toothbrush misses, particularly between the teeth. As for mouthwash, most people use it at the end because they find it ';refreshing.';Mouthwash, floss, and brush. What order do you do it all in?
    1. floss - to dislodge the food between your teeth,

    2. brush - to remove all the plaque and food

    3. mouthwash - kills the bacteria.

its always better to floss before brushing, and it is more beneficial to use a mouthwash last, as the product lasts longer in your mouth - making it more effective.

I have a 4month bichon but she wont let me brush her ??? she also has went off her dry food?

You will have to get her used to being brushed, combed, and groomed. Bichons need their coat taken care of, or you are going to end up with serious matting. If you can't groom her, then you are going to need to take her to the groomers quite often. You can have them bathe and brush her in between haircuts. You can feed her some treats while you brush her to help her associate grooming with something good. If she just wants to run away, you can tie the leash to something to help secure her. If she bites, you have to teach her not to. Better to start getting a puppy, especially one with a high maintenance coat, used to being groomed now rather than letting her grow into an adult who will fight even harder at being groomed.I have a 4month bichon but she wont let me brush her ??? she also has went off her dry food?
With grooming your dog - just buy a doggie table and put her on it and brush even if it's only a couple of minutes. If you do this regulary she will get used to it in the end. My dog used to growl at me when I groomed him but now he's fine with me grooming him.

Try adding some good quality wet food to your dogs dry food. Dry foods can be extremely boring for dogs. It would be a bit like eating cornflakes with no milk.

Hope this helps.I have a 4month bichon but she wont let me brush her ??? she also has went off her dry food?
Try mixing a little meat with her dry dood to get her back onto it. As for the brushing try to distract her with something while brushing her or get someone else to distract her while you brush her, a little at a time. She will eventually get used to it.
Won't let you? Who is in control? When a dog gets brushed and starts behaving badly, it is up to you to continue gently brushing until the dog stops. When they do, say ';Good dog'; in a happy voice, that reinforces good behavior. If you stop brushing every time they act up, you are sending the message that you will stop brushing if they are bad. They are training you.

If the vet says there is nothing wrong with your puppy, and the food is a good food, they will eventually eat.
Put her between your legs to hold her tight and when she fights you do not give in or show any reaction or she wins and she knows she is getting to you and this behavior will continue. She will get used to it if she knows no matter what she does or how she acts she is getting brushed, and when your done your done, not when she thinks your done. Then when you finish give her a special treat she normally doesn't get, this way she knows when she gets brushed there is a reward when she is finished. Brush fequently or she will get knotted and brushing tangles out will hurt her. She needs to know you are the head of your household and she needs to obey you, do not let her control you or things will get worse. As far as food she will eat dry if she is hungry. Mine eat Royal canin and love it! It is always there if they are hungry, some eat in the AM and some in the PM, some eat in the middle of the night, but dry food wont get old sitting out, wet food will and cause them to get sick if it's out too long. Plus dry food help get the tarter off there teeth, wet food causes a bad tarter build-up! Trust me if they are hungry they will eat!
I`m not sure about the 2nd question but my dog also does not like anybody to brush her..she would probaly run away and hide under the dining table (:o)

Like any kind of tinted moisturizer and a 187 mac brush. Would it look any different if it was applied with hands or a sponge? Have you tried it?Do you think applying tinted moisturizer with a skunk brush...?
i use my hand. as long as its the same color as your skin, you really don't have to be to paticular about getting fancy brushes to blend it in. sponges work well too though.Do you think applying tinted moisturizer with a skunk brush...?
I think using your hands is good enough.

You don't need anything else to apply it with.

I say use a sponge you don't need fancy brushes for this job. or you might can try a foundation brush.

I don't think it will eat away at anything, but you can poision yourself with it ! Why would you want to do that anyway. They have plenty of whitening products now a days that don't cost much at all! Skip the Clorox, and stick with Crest! Can u use chloride bleach from washing clothes to brush your teeh and get white results with no harm ?
Good, I am glad I can make someone smile! Report Abuse

OMG. are u out of ur mind? it s desgned for clothes not for teeth. I prefer Crest Strips. its effective
Chlorine bleach is high toxic and corrosive. Inducing a small amount would induce vomiting. Even if you put it in your mouth it would corrode the enamel of you teeth.
No, no, no, no,no, no! It will kill you, are you crazy, or just cheap?
No, you will get some incredibly painful chemical burns to the inside of you moth, possibly to your esophagus and airway though.
There is no way that you should even want to use chloride bleach on your teeth. It would burn your mouth and then you would really have a big problem. There are many things on the market for whitening your teeth. I sometimes use baking soda on my teeth.
Using Bleach to brush your teeth will kill you way before it eats your bums and lips away.
    What is your IQ, anyway?
it will turn ur teeth white but it will burn the inside of ur mouth and if u drink it u will die. i wouldnt try it okay genious

How can I brush my dogs teeth without getting bit?

very carefullyHow can I brush my dogs teeth without getting bit?
The dog toothpastes are flavored. My friend brushed her dog's teeth without much of a problem. Now if your dog is food agressive, don't even bother with it. If you really think your dog needs his/her teeth clean have a vet do it.How can I brush my dogs teeth without getting bit?
ha ha. good question. my sister does it. many people go to the vet. do you have to? there are dog chewie things that will clean their teeth.

How do I brush my dogs teeth?

Give your dog a treat such as Dentastix. It's easier than brushing and they just love it. My dog asks for it every single day after eating. :-))How do I brush my dogs teeth?
I give my dog a dental bone. They comes in packs of either 1 or 2 from pet shops and are green coloured. They are supposed to clean the teeth and stop the breath getting really smelly. They do work as my vet is always impressed with my dogs teethHow do I brush my dogs teeth?
with your partners toothbrush%26amp;doggie paste! have fun xxxx
They make toothbrushes and toothpaste for them. My dog loves his chicken flavored toothpaste.
what i do for my bullmastiff is squeeze some dog toothpaste onto a clean strip of cloth (an old towel or something) and make him lay on his side and take the cloth (wrapped around my fingers) and start to rub he teeth and gums. Gives you better control than using a tooth brush as my dog thinks this is a game and wants to eat the toothbrush, but he wont eat my hand!
Why don't you ask him how his mother used to do it. Make sure he gives you all of the details, what type of toothbrush, what type of toothpaste and so on. Then you might ask him to read you a story before you go to bed. Then maybe he will balance your checkbook and cook you breakfast in the morning. Oh wait, he can't tell you that because he's a dog, and his mother never brushed his teeth, and her mother never brushed her teeth, and her mother never brushed her teeth.... see where I'm going here.
start at a early age if possible.. we found some poultry flavored toothpaste that our dogs love. we would do it in the morning when we brushed our teeth and now they are jumping up and down every morning waiting for us to do them
ask him to say 'cheese' and brush his nashers with doggie toothpaste n brush, while hes smiling!! dog chews are good for their teeth too x
get a special toothbrush designed for dogs, and a toothpaste that is specially designed for them, i have meat flavored toothpaste for mine, he loves it! you can use bones and chews, (although some of the chews designed for cleaning teeth are not big or tough enough for bigger dogs), this will mean you have to clean them less often!
In the old days we gave them bones to chew on, then came along hardened pig skin type chews, then hard feed.

If you read the information on a tube of toothpaste, it says not to swallow contents.

Animals do this almost automatically when you insert something into their mouths.

Reason why we should not swallow the contents, well isn't fluoride still questionable, work it out.

Being cruel to an animal is not necessarily physical harm by abusive actions.

Too many times people do not read the warning labels on product they buy, and that is the most foolish environment to accept.

Don't pass foolishness onto an animal.
you can get dogs toothbrushes and then use your head never done it myself but shouldn't be too difficult
if its a big dog, very carefully
with toothpaste and a toothbrush that are both designed for dogs.
Human toothpaste is poisonous for dogs so do not use that. For my dogs I bought a toothbrush and toothpaste at the pet shop. The toothbrush fits onto a finger and it is therefore easier to brush their teeth. Also, the toothpaste comes in a meat flavour which should encourage them to want their teeth brushed. However, it is not easy to brush their teeth as they rarely enjoy it so just stick at it and it will get easier.
You shouldn't really need to! Dogs clean their own teeth with their dry biscuits and treats such as dentistix which are very good but if you really need to, try putting a little, tiny, bit of toothpaste on a new brush ( dogs love mild mint ) and let him play with it at first, then see if he'll let you have a go. A lot of dogs don't like their teeth mucked around with and if he won't let you, just let him play with the toothbrush ( under supervision of course ) or give him the dentistix on a regular basis.
Better to give him a chew stick thats designed for that.
In the wild, the mother dog uses twigs and fine white sand from a beach to brush her puppie teeth.

    True observation!!!!
Most dogs hate their teeth brushed, ( jsut warning you before you frustrate yourself). My vet warned me of this when I brought my pup in for his check up, he suggested keeping him a a hard crunchy kibble and coming in once a year for a scaling, ( dental check up). There are products out there, ( Greenies, etc...), they work as well. But my puppy wimpers when I bring out the toothbrush. Let`s get it straight they`re animals, not humans, it`s not natural to them to have their teeth brushed.Stupid idea actually..Most dogs hate, unless your super vigilant about it.
Using a specially designed toothbrush and pet toothpaste would be adviseable. If you want to use this method it would be good to gradually introduce your dog to the toothpaste and toothbrush. On the other hand you have got certain chews you can give your dog to help prevent dental problems, for example: Rawhide...
Add a few drops of ketchup with the paste - they love it and will let you do anything you want then.

AND it prevents the grass discolouration that bitches make with their acid urine.

I brush my teeth, but within like 15 minutes it smells again?

get mouth wash and floss!I brush my teeth, but within like 15 minutes it smells again?
Brush your tongue too. Make certain you don't have gunk caught in your tonsils. See a dentist for a good cleaning %26amp; ask their advice.I brush my teeth, but within like 15 minutes it smells again?
Halitosis (bad breath) is often not at all caused by teeth, but by your liver.

Is the back (or middle and front, too) of your tongue yellow rather than pink? If so, it's your liver trying to get rid of toxins. THAT'S what causes the bad breath. You'll need to change your diet. Halitosis usually clears up after about two weeks of following the healthy liver diet.
use mouthwash before AND after you brush. don't forget to brush your tongue
The odor is actually coming from the deepest opening between the gum and teeth. Brushing alone is not enough and mouthwash sounds good but depends on the mouthwash. I know of mouthwash that can help you something that has no alcohol because alcohol will only dry your mouth and will lead to worse oral problem. Brushing the tounge is not a very sound advice, a tounge scraper is more better, it only cost $1.50 and it will do far better than brushing the tounge.

And about mouthwash that works just look for alcohol free mouthwash and try to avoid too much fluoride because it is also known to cause bone flurosis (cancer).
floss as well...it may be stomach probs not teeth.
    mouthwash
Try using mouthwash or natural breath fresheners, like oregano, peppermint and spearmint.Avoid food like onions, garlic and cayenne peppers. Also if you drink or smoke that can be part of the problem too.If none of this helps ask your orthodontist.
this is because you have an upset stomach thats why.do you smoke thats probbally why man!!!!!
    Sounds like you have gingivitis.
brush yor tongue well. It should be pink when youre done
You can use mouth wash and see if that works
    better tothpaste!

    -tenira
But do you floss? Food trapped between the teeth can cause odor as will food forced under the gum line. If you have cavities and breaks in your teeth, they may cause a smell also. Finally, what are you eating? You may have a digestive problem that tooth brushing cannot fix and should see a doctor. If all else fails, use an antiseptic mouthwash an vigorously slosh it on your teeth for 30 seconds. A visit to the dentist for a cleaning and exam with X-rays is also a good idea.
Your tongue has a lot more bacteria than your teeth so maybe you should trying scraping your tongue witha tongue scraper and then brush it with toothpaste. To make it last even longer try some mouthwash. This is perfectly normal and happens to a lot of people.

How to solve math Paint brush cost .79 paint cost .89 What combo of brush & paint could u by fo4.15?

    brush = 0.79 cents/brush

    number of brushes = B

    paint = 0.89 cents/paint

    number of paint = P

    total cost = $4.15

    0.79B + 0.89P = 4.15

we also know that B and P must be whole numbers where

  • Can eyeshadows be applied with a paint brush?

if you paint then i would not recommend you using your paint brushes for makeup! your paint brushes are very delicate and even the oils of your skin can taint the brushes ability to create the perfect stroke. don't gunk up your brushes with make up!Can eyeshadows be applied with a paint brush?
I have eyeshadow brushes but yeah I use some of my softest paint brushes for make up. provided that it's thoroughly cleaned and haven't been used for paint yet. I don't see much difference between them. I was actually planning to buy make up brushes that I can use for paint. but the make up brushes pack a bit more color than the paint brush. the eyeshadow clings better on make up brushes because the hair/fiber/furr is specifically chosen for that purpose whereas paint brushes are for wet paint/color.

if you have high-pigmented and clingy eyeshadow that would work fine. Can eyeshadows be applied with a paint brush?
yes a nice soft one that you haven't used for oil paintings or a 0 for a liner brush

How do you use a round brush with blow dryer?

http://www.salonweb.com/pro/style.htmHow do you use a round brush with blow dryer?
brush your hair while blow drying itHow do you use a round brush with blow dryer?
first, you have to separate your hair into sections in a size that fits the brush, and that you can handle it... then if you want volume, place the brush below the hair, if your intention is not to have more volume, then place it on top %26lt;-- this is for a big round brush, if it's a little one, then it depends on which side you want your hair to be...

place the blow dryer in a direction that it makes your hair blow down, if you don't, then you'll get some little hairs really difficult to fit the rest

Do you have the Crest spin brush with charger??

I just bought the crest spin brush with charger, and I was wondering. How do we know if it is charging? There is no lights or anything to indicate if the brush is actually charging? If there is an indicator, I do not see it.

So how do we know if the brush is charging or have been fully charged?? It just seems wierd, that they don't put a charge indicator on the charger. anybody has any thing to say about this?? thank youDo you have the Crest spin brush with charger??
    No.

Cold water hurts my teeth, hot water burns my mouth.....

So i use just use warm water!

But it's what you want.....i don't think one is better than the other. Hot water kills germs, i think.

But yeah, warm water is what i use.

warm water can help make your toothbrush softer, if that matters to you.

but it doesn't really matter if you don't care.Brush my teeth with cold or hot water?

Do you brush your teeth in the shower?

    I do :D

This morning, when i got in the shower, i mistook the bottle of shampoo for toothpaste, and the tube of Aquafresh for shampoo, i guess i was still half-asleep...haha

it took me like 5 minutes to realize that i was washing my hair with toothpaste, and brushing my teeth with shampoo,

my hair ended up smelling minty fresh throughout the day :DDo you brush your teeth in the shower?
haha wow that sucks. good thing you finally realized you were washing your hair with toothpaste. how did the shampoo taste? :P

i brush my teeth after i get out of the shower, over the sink :]Do you brush your teeth in the shower?
Hahaha, I'd sooo expect something like that from you Breeezin :L

Well, I did brush my teeth in the shower once.

I was in a hurry (I forgot why) but I was running extremly late so I grabbed my toothbrush and paste and hopped in the shower brushing and washing my hair like there was no tomorrow, freaking out. XD

Haha, yours beats mine though. :D
    I do

it saves the world 30 mins of the water running

i always end up using the toothpaste for my hair and bodywash for toothpaste and the shampoo for bodywash

    Im always confused.

    (:
    REALLY? cool xD

and i brushed my teeth in the shower once. i dont remember why =/

and once i was getting cereal and when i was finished i put the cereal in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard xD i screwed up the milk! i found it like 2 hours later!
I brush my teeth in the shower too, although I've never made the same mistake as you. I find it hard to believe that you can confuse a tiny tube of toothpaste with a much larger bottle of shampoo and vice versa - even while half asleep.
actually, yes i do that lots of times lol

its better to stay in the nice warm shower and brush than to stand in front of the cold sink and brush ;)
lool... Brushing your teeth with shampoo! Maybe you can tell me how that tastes!!

But, no, I don't brush in the shower. My brother does though. Is it a guy thing or what? xD
No I dont but I did once cause my ex used to I would get sick watching him do that nasty sh*t but one day I was late staying at a friends house whose bathroom was small and sink didn't look all that clean so I did everything in the shower

    Brushed

    Wow lol

I never even thought of brushing my teeth in the shower. Like most people, I brush my teeth in front of the mirror :D
    hahahhaha xD

    i do that seperately
Lmao. You're silly. At least your hair smelled good...I guess. Lol. But yeah, I do. I thought I was the only one. Lol.

    :)
    Hahahaha

    and no i dont.
    A few times.

Once my mom started brushing her teeth with hand soap. It was funny.
Darn it! Yes I do! There they go falling out again! lol!!!

Anybody got any polident that you could spare?
half asleep or not ....i think i could tell the difference between a bottle and a tube.
    Aww jeez.

Well maybe you'll get some compliments!

I used to brush my teeth in the shower, saves time, stopped though.
Yeah. I thought I was the only one. LOL
I never brush in the shower
    Excellent work there, soldier!!

wow thats funny and no i dont but my step dad and mom do.
Thats weird! I've never heard of someone who does that! But i do have to say that that is extremely hilarious!!
    yes i do.

LOL [[funny story! made me laugh!]]

I would start out with the MAC kit, they are quality and if you wash them like you're suppose to, they will stay in good condition. For smaller brushes, like lip brushes, get at an art supply store- they are just as nice. Just remember to wash your brushes to keep them soft. Please help me to choose the best makeup brush set?

My cat has a bad hairball problem. I brush her daily and its still bad. What can i do?

    Hi Marleane,

If you are continuing to have a ';bad hairball problem'; and you are brushing her daily you should consult your veterinarian. Hairballs are not only a nuisance for you and your cat, but with your consistent grooming with poor results, you may need to consider that this may not only be a hairball problem.

Hairballs can cause blockages in your cat's digestive tract so care must be given to ensure that this is not happening.

An excellent resource to learn about this condition is:

    http://www.pets.ca/pettips/tips-69.htm

Hope this helps, and do consult with your vet about what else may be going on before you begin any commercial remedies for your kitty. Good luck with her.

http://frequentlyfeline.blogspot.com/My cat has a bad hairball problem. I brush her daily and its still bad. What can i do?
Sometimes, with brushing, you simply loosen fur from the undercoat without eliminating it. That can make it even worse. Try a different brush (one with soft metal tines is real good, and others are advertised to take off loose fur from the undercoat). There are also hairball medications, that are actually flavored greases that allow the hair to pass through. Simply adding extra oils to food sometimes is not that good, as it can dissolve needed vitamins from the foods.

But the normal definition of a hairball problem is when they upchuck hairballs; otherwise it is a shedding problem. My cat has a bad hairball problem. I brush her daily and its still bad. What can i do?
    Avoid the hairball formula food.

There are two things you can do if you're already grooming daily. One is to add fish oil to the diet and the other is to use a hairball remedy.

You can find hairball remedies in most pet stores.

    Fish oil:

Only Natural Pet Icelandic Salmon Oil (pump) (http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/products/O鈥?/a>

The one from the Natural Pet....(local pet store)

Good for hairballs, good for skin and coat.

Selection: You typically won't use human fish oils - at least not the ones in liquid form - because they have added citrus flavors to many of them. You don't want to use cod liver oil - at least not on a very regular basis - because it has too much vitamin a. Plain old fish oil or salmon oil is best. I prefer it in liquid form as opposed to capsules for ease of dispensing. You want it to say that they've done everything possible to remove mercury. I prefer one with the fewest additives, especially not rosemary. Or propyllgallate.

For ease of use, I prefer to buy it in liquid form in a squeeze bottle or pump.

Dosage: I give a squirt every day. It's not measured but probably comes to somewhere around 1/4 tsp.
There is a product called Laxatone that you can get from your vet that helps cats ';digest'; the hairballs, so instead of throwing them up they poop them out. It comes in a tube and you can either mix it in with your cats food or put it directly in her mouth. Call your vet and ask them about it. There's also hairball control foods you can try as well. Good luck!
You say your cat has a hairball problem, but there aren't any specifics. Does your act actually produce a hairball or just cough? The reason I ask is that my cat would cough, but never produce an actual hairball. Turns out it is asthma and not hairballs.

    Good luck,

    Stacey
Why don't you buy cat food that is specially formulated for hairball control, like 9 lives or purina...it's like 4 bucks. And they have one for hairball control-indoor formula together!
Try adding oily stuff to her food: That might help with the shedding problem.

    Good luck!
I used purina hair-ball formula for my cat's food. Hairballs cleared up after a few weeks.

  • Do you brush your dogs teeth?

How often ?Do you brush your dogs teeth?
Twice a week, plus I use a tartar reducing spray when I remember.Do you brush your dogs teeth?
No, I don't. (Shame on me.)

I know I need to start. I just barely found out that dogs need their teeth brushed (actually, when I asked a question about it on here.) When I was growing up, that wasn't something that was a part of owning a dog. We didn't brush their teeth. Times are changing, I guess...so I need to get with the program.
Yes I do, about 2-3 times a week. I use an enzymatic toothpaste so it works after my fingers leave his mouth. My girlfriend uses this spray stuff, that her vet gave her, it works really well on tarter. So i guess thats 2 yes's
I do, but not weekly. More like monthly (or bi-monthly). I do, however, take Blondie to the vet to have her teeth cleaned.
Once a week or so. I also use the water additive that prevents tartar, and I use a dental tool to remove tartar from one of my dogs.
Yes, every day because greyhounds often have bad teeth and this cuts down greatly on the amount of scalings or cleanings they need. They also chew raw knuckle bones when I can get them.
Yes, I use OraVet once a week. Though I'm seriously considering using baking soda %26amp; a toothbrush in between those once-a-week vet paste applications.
no my dog will not tolerate me doing that, its the one time i don't have control over him

i use these charcoal biscuits you can get at the vets that clean their teeth
Yes, I brush my dog's teeth 2-3 times a week with a dog toothbrush and peanut butter flavored toothpaste.
    Yes.

Normally when I'm home, and they are looking like they could use it. Not every day though, I'm probably doing it once or twice a month.
Yes, once a week with an enzymatic toothpaste I get from the vet (it's the only one he seems to not hate).
Nope, mine get raw bones at least twice a week. Those take care of their teeth... no brushing needed.
Yes, I do. I do it about twice a week.
no never brush a dogs teeth for reasons i dont want to say
Yes I do every other day!
    Twice or thrice a week.
    Yes! 2x a week
    yes about once a week

What type of eyeliner (pencil? twist-up? pot + brush? smoky?) would be good for someone with ';raccoon'; eyes?

It's hard to cover up my undereye circles completely, because they're so dark. I notice that when I wear eyeliner, it accentuates them. So, for my eyeliner, should I be wearing a razor-sharp, or thick, smoky look? Also should I be wearing a particular color? (I have dark brown hair, fair skin, and blue/gray/green eyes). Thanks! What type of eyeliner (pencil? twist-up? pot + brush? smoky?) would be good for someone with ';raccoon'; eyes?
plane black eyeliner from m,a,cWhat type of eyeliner (pencil? twist-up? pot + brush? smoky?) would be good for someone with ';raccoon'; eyes?
i think u should do it like the smokey look.......
Don't do eyeliner on lower lashes. A smokey subtle look is best. I would suggest a neutral shade, brown, taupe, gold; but sheer. Experiment with colors to see what looks best.

Is it best to floss then brush, or brush then floss?

I would say floss first to get down deep under the gums, then brush real good. Since flossing has already started the stimulation of the gums, I find that now brushing is more effective since the bristles can get slightly more of the teeth that had not been exposed prior to flossing. I'm not sure there is a right or wrong way just as long as you do both regularly and use mouthwash too.Is it best to floss then brush, or brush then floss?
I agree totally with LOTH, RDA. It doesn't matter. I would suggest that you pick a time of the day to floss and try to stick to it, though. Flossing is more effective if you can space it out at 24 hour intervals, so flossing in the morning one day and at bedtime the next leaves too long an interval between flossing, if you want to ';do it right.'; It is easier to remember to floss if it becomes part of a routine, such your every-night-before-I-go-to-bed routine. You'll start to feel guilty if you skip it. (haha!!!)Is it best to floss then brush, or brush then floss?
My dentist says, floss, brush and floss again.
I like to floss first..brush after..It does'nt make sense to me to do it the other way..
um floss to brush i guess..it makes sense..you dont want all that nasty flossed out crap floating around your mouth after you've already brushed..
I usually floss then brush, but I think you are suppose to brush then floss.
    Floss first, and then brush.

Brushing cleans off a lot of the junk flossing leaves behind, so brush last.
Turn the computer off and stop waisting your dads electricity!
    floss, then brush
actually, i brush, floss , then brush again to be sure.
it doesn't matter if you do it together , separatedly just do the flossing once a day at some point and brush after meals
I would floss then brush so that all the little particles in your teeth get lose and then you could brush them out with your tooth brush. :)
I don't know if this is correct or not but I usually brush, floss, then rinse my mouth with water to get all the junk I flossed out off my teeth.

Should i brush my puppy's teeth?

If so, when should i start? Is brushing better than those ';teeth brushing doggy bone things'; How old should they be when you start brushing? I know it should be pretty young so they get used to it.Should i brush my puppy's teeth?
Yes. The first step is to get your dog used to you fussing around in his mouth--and this can be easier said than done! You can start by dipping your finger in some beef bouillon, and rubbing it gently along his teeth and gums.

You can check this site for more guidelines.

    http://dogtime.com/brushing-teeth-dogs-a鈥?/a>Should i brush my puppy's teeth?
a dog given the right nutrition should be able to keep healthy teeth but if you are unable to provide it with quality food then yes you should brush its teath atleast once every 3 days
I usually brush my dogs teeth once a week. I started this routine at one month old. The bones work to scratch off some of the plaque but wont get what brushing does.
Yer it's alright to start brushing it's teeth, Brushing does a better job than those bone things. Just dont wake up one morning and use the wrong brush LOL
puppies can get used to using doggy toothpaste, especially the liver flavor, which always helps!
I have never brush my dog's teeth..

You can give him treats that help his teeth, as I do.

    Good luck with that :)

    Hope I helped..

When to brush 13 month old's teeth?

My 13 month old son has 4 teeth up top and 2 teeth down low. He hates me looking at his teeth and won't ever let me look to see if new ones are coming in. So I have been worried about brushing his teeth. When should you start brushing their teeth? What is the best type of tooth paste for their age? I have no idea what to do, please helpWhen to brush 13 month old's teeth?
your supposed to start brushing their gums from day 1...i personally don't know anyone who has:) i started a few months ago with mine and hes 16 months. i try to brush his teeth once a day, usually at night, but at least once during the day when i'm brushing my teeth, i give him his tooth brush and let him work at it himself, he loves to suck off the tooth paste, lol and he mimics me. so i think thats a good learning experience. as for tooth paste, they have some out there with no fluoride in the for babies learning to brush their teeth. its ok if they swallow it.When to brush 13 month old's teeth?
You should already be brushing his teeth, so start now. You should have cleaned his gums even before he had teeth, it gets him used to it and helps his new teeth to come. But not to worry it isn't too late or anything. You should brush his teeth before bed and first thing in the morning! If he eats sweets or drinks a soda or something it is a good idea to brush after that also.

You must buy baby/toddler toothpaste that contains no fluoride. He is going to swallow it and that is the only kind that is safe to swallow. It will say that right on the packaging. A good way to get started is to let him watch you brush your teeth, and then let him ';help'; you brush your teeth. Then make a big deal about his new big boy toothbrush!! He should be excited to try it out. Put him in front of the mirror to watch, and let him try it alone AFTER you brush his teeth. Some days he is just not going to want to, and you just have to hold him down and do it. My daughter is 2.5 and sometimes she is just not in the mood and nothing i do will make her happy about having to brush, but it has to be done!

Sometimes i make it a game and pretend to chase Elmo or whatever character he likes around his mouth with the toothbrush. She ends up laughing so her mouth is wide open! :0)
As long as you're cleaning your child's teeth regularly, you don't need to use any toothpaste yet. Just brush the teeth gently on both the outside and inside surfaces twice a day. Brush his tongue as well (if he'll let you) to dislodge the bacteria that can cause bad breath. One quick swipe is enough. Replace the toothbrush as soon as the bristles start to look worn or splayed out.

JUST SO YOU PPL USING ';TODDLER TOOTHPASTE'; KNOW.....

A little fluoride is a good thing for your baby's teeth, but too much of it can lead to a condition called fluorosis, which in mild cases causes white spots to show up on your child's adult teeth. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends waiting until your child is 2 to use fluoridated toothpaste, and even then you should let him use only a tiny (pea-sized) amount each time. This is because young children tend to swallow their toothpaste rather than spit it out and swallowing too much toothpaste over time can lead to fluorosis.

AND.....if your not using toothpaste with this then your only using something to take the ';bad breath'; smell away.....thats why they say to just use a brush with water and BRUSH HIS TOUNGE until they are older and can take toothpaste with flouride.

(look for a baby toothbrush with a small bristle head and larger grip suitable for your hand)
Once their first teeth came through I started giving my kids the age appropriate child's toothbrush to use. We would brush our teeth together, they would just play with it and put it in their mouth, but got to watch me to see how it's done. I used a very small amount of children's toothpaste sold at most supermarkets.

My oldest was about 18 months when I could finally give her teeth a real brush, and as she gets older I'm able to explain to her how it's done correctly. My youngest is 21 months and will now let me brush his teeth but only a few quick brushes.
I brushed my daughter's teeth as soon as she started getting 1. Oral-B makes a toothpaste that is safe for babies and can be swallowed...it's training toothpaste. At his age you can get a little toddler sized toothbrush, and use the training toothpaste or a kids toothpaste, such a Crest. You just use a pea sized amount, so if they swallow it, it's not going to hurt them. Hope this helps!
Mine is also 13 months and we started about a month ago. she Hates it. Like to Attempt to do it herself - but obviousl doesn't do a good enough job herself. I let her do a bit and then I take over - She hates that, but its important the job gets done!
Uh...about 6 months ago, when the first one came through. What on earth have you waited this long for? Imagine going months without ever cleaning your teeth. Eww.

You get toothpaste which is specially for babies (it's designed to be swallowed).
You should start at birth with a damp soft cloth and at 3 months old using gum cleanser (which is what the package says for age) and when they have their first couple teeth switch to a soft toddler brush and toddler toothpaste without flouride. If he has 8 teeth you probably should have started awhile ago. I started from birth with my son and switched to gum cleanser at 3 months and a toothbrush at 1 year after he had 4 teeth.

My son doesn't like his teeth brushed either but it is not negotiable- unless you want him to have rotted teeth and huge dental issues to deal with.

I use Toms Natural toothpaste in strawberry flavor for my son. It's about $5 a tube but will last a long time and you only need a little bit. I also found getting him a Tigger toothbrush helped alot in getting him to cooperate a little more. I still have to brush fast though because he only cooperates about a minute so getting a thorough job done is tricky.
For a second i thought you said thirteen years, haha. As with any other part of your child's body, your child's mouth needs to be cleaned regularly to keep it healthy, working properly and looking good. Research is now showing that the health of your mouth affects the health of the rest of your body, too. If your child's mouth is clean and healthy, the rest of his or her body will be better off too.

Oral hygiene needs to start early. This means taking action even before your child gets his or her first tooth. Wipe your child's tongue, gums and cheeks at least once a day, before bed or nap time, with a clean, damp washcloth wrapped around your finger. You can also use a terrycloth finger cot. This fits over a finger and is made for this purpose. Most drugstores carry them.

It's best if you can look into your child's mouth while you clean it. Lay your baby in a bassinette and stand behind his or her head as you use the wipe. As your child grows, sit down and have your child stand or kneel between your legs, facing away from you. Then, your child can tip his or her head back into your lap.

While you are looking in your child's mouth, keep an eye out for anything that doesn't appear normal. This could be white or red spots in the mouth, bulges that you can't identify, or other changes. Ask your child's dentist about anything you see.

As soon as the first teeth appear, it is especially important to clean along the gums around the teeth. This is where plaque is most likely to cause cavities and inflamed gums. Plaque is a sticky white or yellowish substance that contains bacteria. Wiping is a good way to clean your child's mouth until the first few teeth begin to show. Then it is best to switch to a soft-bristled, infant-sized toothbrush. Use a very small smear of toothpaste.

Your child's teeth don't touch each other when they first come out. There is space between them. But as your child grows, the back teeth will move into position against one another. This can occur as early as age 3 or as late as age 6. When these back teeth start touching each other, it's time to start flossing your child's teeth. Flossing is essential because toothbrush bristles cannot reach between the baby teeth. This makes the areas between teeth at high risk for cavities.

    Who Does the Brushing?

Young children can't brush and floss their own teeth well. Parents should be involved in brushing and flossing until a child is 7 or 8 years old. However, children should be encouraged to participate in brushing as soon as they can hold a toothbrush. Young children learn best by watching and copying their parents' actions. They will be more interested in learning to brush and floss when they see their parents doing so every day.

    Brushing

The most important time to clean your child's mouth is just before bedtime. While we sleep, saliva flow slows down and the mouth provides less protection against cavities than it does during the day.

First, let your child brush his or her own teeth and enjoy this experience. Don't worry about how well he or she does it. Then, brush your child's teeth a second time.

Have your child kneel or sit in front of you and tilt his or her head back in your lap. Gently pull one cheek aside with your finger so you can see the outside surface of the upper back teeth.

Remember that how well you brush your child's teeth is just as important as how long you brush. Once you are comfortable with a set brushing pattern, you will be able to do it quickly, even if your child is not in the mood or being fussy. Follow these five steps:

Upper/outer: Place the toothbrush against the outside surface of the very back tooth on one upper side. Angle the toothbrush up toward the gums. Gently brush the area where the gums and tooth meet. Brush each tooth as you move the brush around the outside of all the upper teeth to the last tooth on the other side.

Lower/outer: Move to the last back tooth on one side on the bottom. Brush the outside of each tooth as you move around to the other side.

Lower/inner: Move to the inside (tongue side) of the lower teeth and brush each tooth as you move around from one side to the other.

Upper/inner: Move the brush to the inside of the upper teeth and move from one side to the other as you brush.

Brush the biting surfaces of back teeth on the top and bottom.

Your child might protest at first, but over time, you'll both become comfortable with this routine. Then, careful brushing will be a part of the bedtime ritual.

The right brush can sometimes make all the difference. Use a brush that is designed for your child's age. The smaller the brush head, the easier it is to see where you are going. It's also easier to aim the bristles along the gum line and to clean thoroughly. Use a soft-bristled brush. Don't scrub: Brush gently! Scrubbing can damage tissues and could make brushing uncomfortable for your child. Never brush your child's teeth with a toot

When i brush my teeth in the morning i get a little bit of blood out is that normal or is it gingivitis?

COULD BE BRUSHING TO HARD! TRY A SOFTER BRISTLE AND USE WARM WATER NOT COLDWhen i brush my teeth in the morning i get a little bit of blood out is that normal or is it gingivitis?
It could be gingivitis. See a dentist. When i brush my teeth in the morning i get a little bit of blood out is that normal or is it gingivitis?
If you have a soft line of bright pink on your gums near your teeth more than likely it is gingivitis. If not, and you brush daily I would find a softer toothbrush and toothpaste that is for sensitive gums.
You could be brushing to hard. Or you may not be brushing enough. One time I didn't brush for a day and my gums got used to it, so when I brushed again there was some blood. Just make sure that you brush twice a day.
USE A SOFT BRISTLE BRUSH AND GO SEE YOUR DENTIST THIS CAN BE AN EARLY SINE OF GINGIVITIES ADN IF LEFT UNTREATED CAN LEAD TO SEVER TEETH ADN BONE DAMAGE
    early gingivitis
It is not normal for your teeth to bleed whenever you brush. It is a sign of weak gums. Please visit a dentist as soon as possible. You don't want that to lead into something worse.
gingivitis even a slight pink is not good.
couple of things. You may have a toothbrush with hard bristles that is actually damaging you gums. You may be brushing too hard. You may have a bit of periodontal disease from improper brushing and flossing. First thing to do, get a new toothbrush with soft bristles and use that toothbrush 3 times a day. Second, use floss when you brush. Floss at least once a day. Third, get some mouthwash and use it everytime you brush to kill any bacteria that may be eating away at your gums. Fourth, go to www.ada.org and read up on important dental information from proper brushing and flossing to periodontal diseases. Finally, go to the dentist if you still see blood in the sink after a week. (you should always be sure to visit the dentist twice a year.) Good Luck
Someone once told me it means your gums are healthy so you have nothing to worry about.
if it hapens all the time i would either get a softer brush or see a dentist if you use a soft brush and it still hapens. Or do both
    Yes.
When I go to the dentist myself and ask that, she says it's gingivitis. Personally I think it's because she keeps on shoving that d****** hook into my gums and it's causing open wounds.
as long as its not coming out of newhere else ur fine =P
A little bit of blood can be a sign of gingivitis, you may want to schedule and appointment with your dentist just to make sure that it isn't.
i had a similar problem and consulted my dentist he told me it was normal but if you want to be safe use a mouthwash, corsodyl is one to prevent and treat gingivitis

  • Can you brush your teeth too much?

i have 5 tooth brushes and carry them around everywhere with me. one in my back pack one in my purse one downstairs one upstairs and one and my best friends house. i brush like every 2 hours. i love tooth paste it makes my mouth feel clean. i used to just brush like 3 times a day but now its every time the clean taste wears off. i have very sensitive teeth. Can you brush your teeth too much?
Brushing too often can actually cause your gums to recede. Sensitive teeth are a symptom of gum recession and over years this could cause you to actually lose your teeth. You shouldn't brush more than 3-4 times a day. Try rinsing with a non-alcohol based mouthwash instead when you feel the need to brush excessively. Also make sure you're getting the most out of your brushing by brushing for about 2 minutes each time and making sure you get all of the surfaces of your teeth. Don't forget to floss either, but don't do any of these excessively.

Also, I don't know if you're putting these brushes in plastic bags, but carrying them around unprotected may actually introduce germs into your mouth. Putting them in a plastic bag or case wet may breed bacteria however. Something to keep in mind.

Hope that helps. Can you brush your teeth too much?
Yes you can brush too much and it can be bad.. There are many peolpe who over kill the brushing and self inflict recession. Brushing too many times will scrape the gums off the teeth, many donnt realize it until they see yellow, which are not exposed roots, or the teeth become sensitive and dont know why since they brush too many times. while it may good for the teeth its bad for the gums, which in the long run if its bad for the gums it will come back and haunt your teeth.

when asked by patients how many time I should brush I tell them once in the mornign once before bed but no more than 3 times per day.

the reason they came up with twice a day is because it takes 12 hours for the bacteria to produce enough toxin to demineralize (weaken) a tooth.
Yes you can, you can wear the enamel off your teeth. How fast the enamel wears away is dependent upon not just how often you brush, but what type of toothpaste you use. The pastes with 'crystals' in them cause more wear than do the other pastes.
You could wear enamel off your teeth if you brush too hard. Always brush gently w/ a soft bristled brush. You could also cause gum recession by brushing too hard or too often. Try a Sensodyne type toothpaste, they don't taste as good though. Don't forget to floss! :-)
No, there is nothing wrong with brushing your teeth this often, but you may actually have a compulsive disorder. The brushing certainly decreases your chances of any infections of the mouth. =)
YES, YOU ARE BRUSHING TOO MUCH

btw enamel is as hard as glass and you won't wear it away unless you brush with sand, but the gums will recede and the dentin beneath is sofrter than enamel
That could be why your teeth are sensitive.....I think you should opt for some sugarefree mints instead of brushing soooo much be sure you are flossing though
Only need to brush after you eat or drink, might be bad for gums in the long run, I brush about 8 to 15 times a day

In what stores can i find touch and brush?

The only store where I have seen Touch and Brush is a place called ';As Seen on TV.'; It's one of those stores in the mall that carry all the items you've seen on infomercials. If there is one in your area, check it out.

Otherwise, call the customer service number for Touch and Brush, and see if there is a store near you that carries it. That number is (203) 567-1131, and they are open 9 to 5 Eastern Time, M-F.

If you have to order online, do not order directly from the company, because it is more expensive that way, and they charge for shipping. Go instead to amazon.com:

Which kind of brush is best for my hair type??

ok, my hair is wavy, but usually, when I brush it, it just makes my hair frizzy and gross...what type of brush keeps my waves without frizz(like paddle brushed, cushion, what type of bristles, etc)? and shine would be nice, too...thanx!!Which kind of brush is best for my hair type??
ooh, i know exactly how you feel! i have he same hair too. Here are some easy brushing tips to keep it sleek and manageble:

    1) while hair is wet, comb it through with a wide-tooth comb

    2) when hair is dry, first comb it through with a cushioned paddle brush, dont worrry if it gets frizzy!

3)Once our hair has been brushed through, take a natural boar-bristle brush and go through your hair. This brush distributes natural oils from your scalp and distributes them over your hair cuticle, smoothing frizz and making the hair shiny! This is the most important step.

Note: the boar-bristle brush will not undo tangles, so make sure you use the cushioned padddle brush first

Note x2: Price really doesnt make thaaaat much of a difference in brushes except in the boar-bristle one, its smart to invest in a good quality one.

Hope that i helped!!Which kind of brush is best for my hair type??
Comb when wet with a fine toothed comb then use a diffuser to dry. When hair is dry already, use a round brush(looks like a curling iron) with plastic bristles to keep and forn waves. If you're in a hurry, the best thing to do is pull it back and put in some gel so it's not frizzy and looks kinda crispy.
I think plastic bristles make it frizz. I use a cushioned brush with metal bristles.
don't brush it... use a pick or a comb
i have the same problem so i dont brush it or comb i just run my fingers through it
if you must use a brush, use a wooden natural boar's bristle brush. the bristles help your hair to retain it's natural oils therefore making it shiney and less frizzy.

Which is more sanitary? a sponge or a scrub brush?

for washing dishes should I use sponge or a scrub brush?Which is more sanitary? a sponge or a scrub brush?
I just took one of those dumb online tests asking which holds the most bacteria, sponge or washcloth. Sponge is a big offender. Scrub brushes are good if you actually need to scrub, say pots %26amp; pans or dried on food. Me, I soak my dishes in hot water before I wash 'em, and I use a washrag.Which is more sanitary? a sponge or a scrub brush?
Sponges are gross and usually laden with bacteria. I use a scotch-brite pad for washing dishes and pots and pans. It doesn't scratch the dishes and rinses out really well. Also use it for cleaning the stainless steel sink.
Definitely not a sponge. I'd use the brush. I personally use a washcloth.
Any are clean if you soak them last with bleach and rinse it out after using.

  • Why when i brush my teeth it hurts?? it has been like this since last year?

also my enamel seems to have faded slowly . what can i do to make my teeth not hurt and bring my enamel backWhy when i brush my teeth it hurts?? it has been like this since last year?
It sounds like you have gingivitis or even gum disease. Brushing helps, but flossing is more important for healthy gums. If your gingivitis is very severe, you may need to go to a dentist and get an deep cleaning on your teeth. Why when i brush my teeth it hurts?? it has been like this since last year?
It sounds like your teeth (or is it a tooth?) have problems and the best way to confirm it is to go to the dentist so that he can look into the source of your pains. If he finds anything wrong with your teeth, he can fix it immediately. If it is the way you brush that causes the problem, he can advice you on better brushing techniques.

It is important to take care of your teeth and gums. The earlier you fix any problems with them the better for you; you have to consider the risk of losing your pearly whites if you wait for longer.

Pains in teeth and gums can also be symptoms of other underlying health problems, so it's best to consult the professionals when feel anything wrong about them.
I agree with wat the others said . I had gingivitis before and it hurt reallly bad to brush in that area but if u use sensodyne it helps a lot and then get to a dentist as soon as possible!

What u described is not okay, so be sure too see a dentist soon!! Start brushing more gently and avoid toothpastes that say whitening or that conatin peroxide etc.and avoid soda, ciggaretts etc

    Maybe u have weak teeth.....plz see a dentist !
Do you by any chance suck lemons? Do you drink soda pop, sugar or nonsugared? Are you Bulimic?

Do you clench or grind your teeth at night or even during the day? Do you use a tartar control or whitening type toothpaste?

These are the things that can make your teeth sensitive or erode your enamel.

You can check with your dental office about some paste called MI Paste. It has to be ordered through the office, not in any stores. It has special minerals to rebuild enamel. Ask about a night guard appliance to wear during sleeping if you grind your teeth. Don't use ';tricked up'; toothpaste. Use a plain version of your favorite brand or something for sensitive teeth.

Don't suck on lemons, they are corrosive to your enamel. If you are Bulimic, seek professional help. Acids will erode the inner surfaces of your teeth, not to mention other health factors.

I don't know if you do any of these things. I just wanted to give you examples of what I know cause sensitivity.
go see a dentist asap. you may have a disease in your mouth (i'm not trying to scare you, just helping)

also brush more than once a day and don' drink soda or eat sugary stuff.

use toothpaste that prevents gingivitis, cavities, and has flouride

your best bet is to see a dentist and talk to him/her.
It sounds like you have been brushing too often and too hard. You might have to use Sensodyne toothpaste to see if it helps. You may have to go to the Dentist and get your teeth sealed. They clean them and then ';paint'; on a clear coating that is cured with black light.

Is electronic tooth brush better than regular? How?

All of the other posters have given good info., esp. with regard to flossing.

However, I strongly beg to differ with them on effectiveness of the electric brush.

I have a lot of cavities, always have had--just can't stay away from the sweets...lol.

I've used two brands of electric brushes as an adult, the most recent being a Sonicare.

From the first time I ever used an electric brush, a good 25 years ago, my checkups made my dentist rave twice a year about the status of my teeth and gums (he didn't know I was using an electric brush).

Subsequently, new dentists and hygeinists have also been thrilled and raved when they first examine me. They've questioned me closely about how often I brush, how many times a day I floss.....

And I assure you that I have no doubt that it's not just about my being an extremely religious flosser. I floss 95% of the time after every meal, every snack. And, I didn't get all that big on flossing until a few years BEFORE I started using an electic brush.

I tell everyone I know, everyone who asks, everyone who cares: Get an electric toothbrush. I don't care if it's a $5.00 model from the drugstore. Save up if you must for a quality brush, Braun, Sonicare bc they're not cheap, but save!

Think carefully about what style you might like best--for example, the Braun's heads and handles are waaay too small for my comfort. Otherwise, just do it!Is electronic tooth brush better than regular? How?
Two things in manual tooth-brushing to be considered: the tooth brush selection and the method/ technic of effective brushing.

On the top of this is the way you hold the tooth brush regardless of the technic will determine the pressure to your tooth and gum.

These are the potential pitfalls. For this I prefer electronic tooth brush.

In electronic tooth brush we need to choose as well as in manual tooth brush. My best pick is Oral B- Braun 3D product that produces a steady 40,000 RPM oscillations. It simplify the process, esp in method of brushing.

Either way, we still need to make use of dental floss for both brushes cannot reach the interdental areas perfectly.

Hope this will answer your question and happy tooth brushing! Is electronic tooth brush better than regular? How?
no,here is some stuff i found from the internet

Independent research finds that most electric toothbrushes are no more effective than the manual variety. The exception is the ';rotation-oscillation';-models, including many of the electrical brushes in Braun's Oral B-series, but even this brush performs only marginally better than a regular manual brush. The research done indicates that the way the brushing is performed is of a higher importance than the choice of brush. For certain patients with limited manual dexterity however, dentists strongly feel that electric toothbrushes can be especially beneficial [7]. Of course, built into any conclusion in this area is the assumption that persons using a manual toothbrush will, in fact, brush their teeth in an approved manner and for a suitably long period.
While I find that my Sonicare does a terrific job in cleaning my teeth, there really are no benefits to an electric toothbrush unless you have dexterity problems and are unable to brush properly on your own.

One thing it helps with is the time. It is programmed to brush for 2 minutes beeping every 30 seconds so that you can change quadrants. (your mouth is divided into four quadrants)

Most people do not brush properly on their own. The proper way to brush is to have your soft bristled brush pointed at a 45 degree angle towards your gum line. Going in a small circular motion, making sure to brush your entire mouth.

All the brushing in the world will not be sufficient, however without flossing. No toothbrush can get in between teeth or below the gumline to remove debris. Flossing is the key to good oral hygiene.

Do you brush your dog's teeth? How often?

I haven't needed to do any teeth cleaning since switching to Canidae dry dog food, nearly 3 years ago. Even my oldsters dog have clean white teeth and no tartar.Do you brush your dog's teeth? How often?
I did a couple of times and it dint work he had lost teethDo you brush your dog's teeth? How often?
I used the Oral B disposable thing one time. My dalmatian did not enjoy that, and tried to bite me.
Well my dogs mouth smells,So I just brush her teeth with toothpaste.....lol
Generally, if you feed your dog a good hard kibble, you shouldn't have to. And if you do, according to my vet, you really only have to clean the outer side of the teeth. They usually get tartar in that area up by the gums. Good Luck!!

P.S. your local vet should have doggy toothpaste for sale if you need it.
Try gumabone (comes in chicken and other flavors.) If your pet chews on it regularly, you'll see a noticeable reduction in plaque.
I brush my dog's teeth 2-3 times a week. Make sure to buy toothpaste made especially for dogs though. Never ever use human toothpaste. I learned from my vet that brushing your dog's teeth makes a great difference in preventing build-up and gum disease.
Oh, I do it after I wash my dog
yes , i do brush my dog teeth with safer dogs toothbrush and toothpasted thats only for dogs . i dont brush my dog teeth every day , just once or three times week after eaten. you know that the pet shop sell dogs and cats breath mints thats shapes of milkbones for the dogs , for cats shape of cat face.
Yes. Once or twice a week
once or twice day tar buildup
yes I try to brush them 1 time per week, but it doesn't always happen. I ask it of my adopties too, In my puppy fact sheet. The decay on a dogs teeth can actually cause a bacteria that can go to the heart and kill them. make sure you a tooth paste for petstore or dental office or jefferspets.com. I tried the walmart brand and did not work. what a diffrence in brands. I also use a soft human toothbrush which they say not to do. but it really does not hurt your dogs teeth. I also use the scraper they sell at jefferspets. And the stuff you put in there water.
I found his product that you just mix in the dogs water and its also safe for cats too.. Its called liquid oral care.. I found it at myers.. Also theres a websit called www.petkin.com.. You do have to change the water daily but it doesnt require brushing.. They also carry oral care wips too... Its only about 4 to 5 dollars a bottle.. And so far with my 13 yr old dog its working well..
One I brush everyday, she lets me, the other is a cranky old coot and doesn't like anyone touching his mouth. I buy big beef shin bones from the butchers for both, the old guy has had them for years and still has all his teeth and not a sign of a cavity.
Every other day. I use the dog toothpaste and the finger tooth brush. It take time for the dog to get used to it, but it is so important especially in toy breeds.
Yes. I brush my dog's teeth every night. That is to clean out all the food remains she's been eating the entire day.
Yes! dogs are also prone to cavities...in brushing their teeth regularly you can reduce the virus presence in their mouth
Yes especially small dogs they can build tatar and what not on there teeth which is not good for them. Also my grandmother was instructed by a vet that you should brush your dogs teeth once a day.
I never brush his teeth: don't have to. If he's being fed proper kinds of food, there will be no tartar build up. I'm no fan of kibble, but if you consider teeth only, there should be some brands that keep the mouth of your dog healthy and clean.

If your dog has bad breath, check his teeth: if there is plaque, get his teeth cleaned and change his food. If his teeth are clean, get him checked out completely. Unless of course the bad breath is caused by the week old dead thing he just found in the bushes and gulped down before you could stop him :-))
Use a child's soft-bristled brush and either special dog toothpaste or baking soda. Human toothpaste is not meant to be swallowed, which is what will happen to whatever you put in your dog's mouth. Canine toothpaste is often meat flavored, making it a more pleasant experience for the dog. Use the brush to gently clean the surfaces of the teeth. There is generally no need to rinse.

there is more information on it on my source

My dog's breath smells horrible! I brush his teeth once a week. Should I do it more?

    I'm looking for an answer that's not ';take him to the vet';

Any good advice for keeping your dog's breath fresh? My dog's breath smells horrible! I brush his teeth once a week. Should I do it more?
Get your dog one of those plague fighting bones, they get soft as the dog chews on it.

    They help wonders!!

    XO!!!

AMy dog's breath smells horrible! I brush his teeth once a week. Should I do it more?
dentist for dogs say that you can brush the dogs teeth at any time in a week, but they say brushing once a day will give your dog perfect teeth. i say brush a little more often like once every three days.
It may not be his teeth causing the problem. If they don't look too bad It may be digestive acids etc. causing the odor. Give him charcoal pills. They should help.
There are other things besides bad teeth that can cause terrible breath....things that are minor and things that are deadly. There are also some things that could start out minor and turn deadly. Begin feeding your dog those chew things that are supposed to help remove tarter, and start brushing his teeth every day for a while. If his breath gets better, you're lucky....it was probably only a tarter build-up. If his breath is still horrible.....well, I would say take him to a vet but you made it clear you dont want to hear that, so I guess all I can say is ignore it until he dies. Is that answer better?
There are a few things you can try first, but it is always a good idea to see the vet if bad breath continues. Bad breath can be a sign of a serious illness.

First of all, are you sure it's his breath? Many people can be confused and think it's the breath when in fact the odor is coming from the ears or eyes. Even low quality kibble can cause mouth odors.

Check his teeth. He may have a rotten tooth. You will be able to identify it by the discoloration. Change to a high quality kibble. Check his ears for infection and parasites. Check his eyes - make sure they are clear and free of sleep.

If his bad breath persists, you will need to see the vet.
    Expanding on someone before me:

A better diet with less fillers, that is less processed will mean that your dog does not have to work as hard to digest it, thus less bad odors originating in the stomach. It's amazing what a switch in diet can do. If you can afford it try:

    Canine Caviar

    Orijen

    Acana

    Nature's Logic

    Now

    Go Natural

    Rubicon

These are all cooked at lower temperatures so the nutrients are less altered. Canine Caviar is only cooked for 6 seconds so it is essentially a dehydrated raw kibble.

If you can't afford those try at least:

    Nutrisource Pure Vita

    Fromm

    Innova

    Blue Buffalo

    Wellness

    Merrick

    Evanger's

    Eagle Holistic Select

    Natural Balance

or anything else without mystery meat, by-product (unless it states that it is only organs), chemical preservatives like BHT, BHA or ethoxyquin, corn, wheat and soy.

I know these food may seem expensive per bag, but you will be feeding about half as much as the Purina and saving on vet bills.

If you can afford raw, it will be the easiest on your dog's stomach and the enzymes in raw meat will clean your dog's teeth too. I like diets like Primal, Nature's Variety, Nature's Logic, Stella and Chewy's, and Bravo. There are also dehydrated raw foods that are a bit more cost effective like Honest Kitchen or Sojos.

You can also add greens like parsley or spinach (or whatever your dog will eat) to a better diet because the phyto-nutrients will help to neutralize bad odors that originate in the stomach.
What type of food do you have him on, as in brand?

Usually the type of food makes all the difference. Brands like pedigree, purina, beneful, iams, ect, are crap brands, equivalent to feeding your dog junk food every day.

He may need to have his teeth checked and cleaned by the vet also, he could possibly have gum disease, such as periodontal disease

If you dont already have high quality dog food, here are some great suggestions

    Artemis

    Natural Balance

    California Natural

    Evo

    Innova

    blue buffalo

    Wellness

    Merrick

    Nature's Variety

    Timberwolf

    Pinnacle

    Eagle Pack

These are great dog food choices. Most of these dog foods are not found at Petco or Petsmart, so your going to have to go to another pet store to find these. Although Blue Buffalo is sold at i think Petsmart, and that is pretty good dog food.

Kirkland dry dog food, found at costco,is a pretty decent dog food. Its better than alot of brands. Their 40 lbs dry food bag cost about $25. right now my dogs are on this brand, and have been doing great. I used to have my dogs on Artemis dry dog food, but these days, spending $80 a month on dog food is something were trying avoid
Well if your dog has some kind of gum disease or has some bad teeth, you can brush his teeth all day every day and the smell will not go away. you first need to find out why his breath is so bad and then treat the cause.

if you are going to brush your dogs teeth then do so on a regular or semi regular basis. once a day if the dog doesn't mind having them done, or at least once every other day using a dog toothpaste.
Although it may be a mouth or food problem, you should check with the vet. sometimes bad breath can indicate another health issue. for example, my friend's pet had awful breath. i told them to take him to the vet, which they did, only to find out he was in kidney failure. I know you are not looking for ';take him to the vet,'; but honestly, if nothing else is working, it may not be his teeth.
What kind of dog food do you feed him? Supermarket dog food will make worse dog breath and tends to make the teeth more yellow. If you aren't already on a premium brand try switching for a few months and see if you notice any difference with the teeth. His fur will smell less doggy too ;)
You can try giving him some of the harder dog bone treats-milk bones, etc. Some are even mint flavored to help with bad breath. These treats will help get rid of the built up tartar on and around the teeth.
If there's a problem with your dog's teeth, the first sign is often bad breath. Brush his teeth regularly, preferably every day. Be sure to use special toothpaste made for dogs; never use human toothpaste.

It's important to have your vet examine his teeth and gums at least once a year. This is the best way to catch problems before they become too serious.

Sorry to tell you this but your dog will need a dental cleaning just like we do and the vet is the only person that can do this. Your pets dental is very important. If left ignored, it can cause major health problems for your pet. My Sheltie is going in one week from Wed, for her dental cleaning.

added: Sorry honey but get rid of the Purina. My sheltie is on Wellness, look at the list that ';Don't litter, spay or neuter'; provided. GREAT quality dog food and they have great treats as well.
you can get treats that are for doggy breathe. but really thats just part of it. :)
Ok, my dogs all ate Purina and never had any problems. I also don't brush their teeth. They eat pigs ears, dentabones, real bones, and all sorts of other things meant to clean teeth.

I've tried the more expensive stuff the dog food police advocates, but you know what? There was no difference, so I went back to Purina. My dogs are very fit and healthy. Well exercised. Many others on here have done the same thing.

So, it's not the dog food. Also, when you say ';horrible';, is it just doggy breath, or is it really bad?

I brush my scalp hard enough that my scalp tingles, but not too hard. will this help it grow faster?

Noooo--best not to do that. You might damage your scalp. But to some degree, increasing blood circulation in the scalp can encourage hair growth. A brief, daily, gently scalp massage is all it takes. That's why people who smoke (as smoke tightens blood vessels) are more likely to lose their hair at a younger age. Here are some other tips:

    1. Eat protein

    2. Make sure you get enough Omega 3 fatty acids (don't worry, it won't make you fat)

    3. Get enough vitamin B12I brush my scalp hard enough that my scalp tingles, but not too hard. will this help it grow faster?
it would be better if you consult with someone who works in a parlor. she would tell you what to to or have them take care of your problem.I brush my scalp hard enough that my scalp tingles, but not too hard. will this help it grow faster?
No. Your hair is formed within the body and is a collection of dead cells your body is getting rid of.. being more active and eating healthy can result in stronger hair. Which means less breakage. Breakages cause hair to lose length.
no, thats damaging your scalp. Do nightly scalp massages with either rosemary, peppermint, or tea tree oil. Has the same effect, it tingles, increasing circulation but does not scab your scalp
Brush gentle. I brush my hair more than 5 times daily and its to the middle of my back! Just massage your scalp once a week and get monthly trims at the hair dressers.

My breath always smells bad when I wake up, and sometimes after that .. I brush my teeth, but it doesn't help.

I use toothpaste, so whats the problem ? How can I make this go away and get rid of my bad breathe ? How can I prevent it ?My breath always smells bad when I wake up, and sometimes after that .. I brush my teeth, but it doesn't help.
Everyone has morning breath - some people worse than others.

THe worst of it comes from going to bed with bits of food between and in your teeth and overnight bacteria grows and the food rots- gross but true.

THe best way to combat really nasty morning breath is to FLOSS and brush before bed and rinse with some mouthwash- the biggest thing you want to mkae sure not to neglect is FLOSS!!

Get all of the bits of food from between and in oyur teeth before bed-

you may still have a little morning breath but a rinse with mouthwash and brushing in the morning will take quick care of itMy breath always smells bad when I wake up, and sometimes after that .. I brush my teeth, but it doesn't help.
I use a tongue scraper. It helps me a lot.
    try mouthwash
bad breath can come from you gums rotting or also from your stomach. If you have blockage in your intestines or waste from constipation the odor will come up thru your stomach and into your breath...another way to confirm it is from your stomach is that when you sweat...you sweat the smell of things you eat like coffee and onions the scent come thru your pores.
There are a few things it could be. Try scraping the tongue, there is a special tool for it. Could be a tonsil problem, sometimes there is something called tonsil stones, that are so stinky....soooo sooo sooo stinky actually. You can google tonsil stones, and read about them. Or, it could be built up plaque, that you are not able to get rid of by brushing. You may need to get your teeth cleaned professionally. I hope this helps a little. Its hard for your self image when you have this problem.
    Use Listerine.

Possible Symptoms of Bad Breath / Halitosis

The main symptom of bad breath is an odor that usually comes from the far back region of the tongue and grows stronger when the person talks. Bad breath is often accompanied by a foul taste in the mouth. The odor can vary from barely noticeable to overwhelming depending on the cause and proximity to the person.

There are also other causes for bad breath which include, infection in the tonsils, adenoids and sinuses. Foods such as garlic, onions, high sugar products, spicy food and dairy products can cause bad breath, along with smoking and drinking alcohol. Hunger, morning breath and poor oral hygiene also play a part in bad breath.

There are a variety of herbal mixtures for bad breath to help eliminate the problem.

    * Drinking plenty of water daily will help to control bad breath. Dehydration will attempt to conserve moisture by reducing the salivary flow, which minimizes the saliva''s cleansing effects on bacteria which is a cause of bad breath.

    * Clean your tongue with a special tongue scraper in order to remove bacteria.

    * Garlic is a natural antibiotic. Use an odorless form.

    *Zinc has an antibacterial effect.

    * Bee Propolis aids in healing the gums and controls infection.

    * Gargle with a glass of water which has the juice of half a lemon added.

    * Brushing your gums and tongue with powdered cloves is another herbal mixture for bad breath.

    * If you suffer from bad breath, then try to avoid foods such as blue cheese, salami, tuna, curry, garlic, onions, anchovies, red meat, milk, coffee and cola.

    * A natural deodorizer is parsley, and cardamom seeds help to sweeten the breath.

    * Another bad breath reducer is fennel tea. The compounds that are found in the tea can decrease bacteria growth that causes bad breath.

    * Cranberries fight offensive-smelling bacteria.

    * Eat a green raw Guava in order to fight against bad breath.

    * Cloves can be kept under the molars without chewing in order to keep your breath fresh.

    * Eating oranges and citrus fruits, which are high in vitamin C can help control the bacteria population.

    * Eucalyptus Oil has an active antiseptic ingredient (Eucalyptol) and can be found in many toothpastes and oral hygiene products.

    * In order to keep the mouth moist and increase the flow of saliva, chew sugarless gum or suck on a sugarless candy. These contain sorbitol, mannitol and xylitol (sugar alcohols), which do not support the growth of oral bacteria.

If your bad breath problem is due to tonsillitis, sinusitis or a nasty cold, edible camphor is a very effective throat stimulant. It''s a sublime substance that simply melts away clogged mucus, giving a clarity and freshness that extends much beyond your throat. It''s like vacuuming your own mouth with one of Nature''s most effective nasal decongester... ENT therapy on the cheap!
Some people have a little thinger that grows in the back of their throat...it looks like a large cottage cheese curd. those will make your breath smell bad because it is basically a buildup of little chunks of everything you have eaten for a few days
It's only morning breath. I have it too.
Do you brush your teeth at night before going to bed? This will definitely help a little. When you brush your teeth make sure to brush your tongue as well. You should have the gag reflex when you do this. This means you are brushing as far back as you should go. To help a little more, you can gargle with a strong mouth wash as well. Keep in mind that if you have sinus or allergy problems, you may have halitosis. This can be treated by taking antibiotics to dry up all the mucus and bacteria you may have. Know that it is normal for this to happen in the morning or whenever you haven't eaten for a long time. I would suggest having gum or candy availabe just in case-sugar free is best. Last, make sure you visit your dentist regularly.
Brush your tongue too. Use mouth wash. Be sure to floss!
To a degree its morning breathe, but it should go away after brushing your teeth. Either you aren't using proper toothpaste or you need some mouthwash and floss to get rid of plaque.
Put a few drops of tea tree oil on your toothbrush top it with toothpaste, and then brush your teeth. Tea tree oil can also cure gum disease, which is possibly the cause of your bad breath. More useful remedies at
